Mangawhai

The inaugural AWA camping weekend has been scheduled for 15,16 and 17 March at http://mangawhaiheadsholidaypark.co.nz/.

This is a very family oriented event with supping, windsurfing, surfing and maybe some racing if the wind cooperates. Mangawhai is only 1:15 hrs away from Auckland and has harbour and ocean side sailing catering for all levels of sailing. Here is a link to what may be in store http://www.sessionlogs.com/spot-67-525/mangawhai%2Dheads-video-gallery. High Tide is at noon.
We will have some demo's and clinics and there is plenty to do to keep the kids entertained.

2013 Womens Camp at Lake Clearwater,

Well the wind may not have blown much.. but that didn't stop the women who attended the annual womens camp at Clearwater, near Christchurch from having fun.

On Friday night a couple of the early arrivals ventured out on their long boards and had a relaxing unwind from the trip. Then on Saturday
we were met by a hot calm day... plenty of time for catch ups.

National Windsurfing Slalom Series another success story

The National Slalom competition in Dunedin last week was an unqualified success, with around 50 competitors, close racing and good media coverage including TV ensuring high visibility. Well done to the organisers and all the competitors for making it so great! Coverage on TV3 was unprecedented for windsurfing over recent years, and the local press gave good coverage:

Womens Windsports Weekend

Sat 16 Feb 2013 - Sun 17 Feb 2013
Lake Clearwater

The annual Womens Windsports Weekend at Lake Clearwater is on 16-17 February, a wee bit earlier this year so hopefully it will be a bit warmer too. Please come along prepared to sail plus in the unlikely (!) event of no wind - bring bikes, SUPs, jokes, stories, food, booze etc.

There is nothing formal planned for the weekend except have loads of fun. If anyone is bringing newbies along don't forget the club has learner windsurf boards for use. Please let me know it these will be needed as we will need to arrange to transport them up to Clearwater.
