More from Xanthe and Fenella's big adventure in Europe!

Hello Everyone,
Its been four days since we left Brest after finishing our European Championships, sorry for the lateness of this email.
The event was fun for both of us and we learnt a lot. Even though we were both disappointed with our results we now know the areas of our sailing that we need to work on in order for us to do well in our next events.

Natalia Kosinska finishes in 5th at Windsurfing RS:X European Champs

Kiwi windsurfer Natalia Kosinska has missed out on a podium finish at the 2013 RS:X Womens’ European Championships just concluded at Brest, France ending the six day regatta in 5th place.

Leading at times and sailing with great consistency Kosinska will be bitterly disappointed not to convert her great results to a medal.

Natalia Kosinska shares the lead at windsurfing RS:X Europeans

Natalia Kosinska is shaping up for a career highlight result at the 2013 RS:X European Championship now lying 2nd overall, but sharing equal points with the leader going into the final day of the regatta at Brest, France.

The kiwi windsurfer relinquished the eight point lead she held at the outset of day five to France’s Charline Picon who won both races sailed today catching Kosinska on the points table. Kosinska was 6th and then 13th today and along with Picon, is six points clear of Mayaan Davidovich of Israel in 3rd.

It was a long day for all with the gold fleets not hitting the water until 7pm when the offshore breeze finally built enough for racing. “I had a good day, it was a long day, and we waited from 11 o’clock in the morning until 7pm.”

Natalia placed 3,5 and 7 to lie 2nd behind the Polish sailor who has 3 bullets so far. There is no one from NZ in the mens fleet.

Laurence Carey - Day 1 IFCA youth worlds in Alicati Turkey, rough start to day gets better

Laurence was disqualified from the first heat of the first round as 8 out of 9 went over the start line early. Racing in heat 9 with 20 other contestants he placed 2nd! A good day of racing. Started off on 8.6 and ended up on 7.0 in the final. Wasn't exactly the start I was looking for with a disqualification however got to the final in the end.
Round 2 Laurence was 3rd in the semi and 4th in the final.

Xanthe & Fenella Bowater - further report on their windsurfing adventures

Hi again! It has been a while since we last wrote, and plenty has happened!
After our first email we caught our flight to Paris, where we stayed at a nice little house for two days and learnt to use the underground train system to explore the city. We got to see some cool sights from up the Eiffel tower and Montmartre, with beautiful weather for us.
