Carbon Art New Zealand Wave Sailing Nationals 2015 goes off!

The 2015 Wavesailing Nationals were held down at Taranaki over the weekend. The forecast was a little sketchy so everyone was stoked to be greeted at Kina Road by blue skies, a bit of wind and some clean sets rolling down the point. With 5/6 people in each heat, light wind on the inside and long lulls between sets, getting two decent waves in 15 minutes was the challenge.

Greater Wellington Regional Council and local councils monitor and report on the quality of the water at popular beaches and river swimming spots so you know if there are any health risks present.

Canterbury Windsports end-of-season prizegiving

It's time to wind up the 2014-15 season. The CWA prize giving will be held at The Speights Ale House in Ferrymead on Sunday May 3rd from 4pm.
There will be a bar-b-que at $10 per head, non-members $20.
Please RSVP asap to the so we can confirm numbers for catering.
PS: If you still have a trophy from last year then please return to Al at Groundswell 1030 Ferry Road.

Wellington Windsurfing Film night and AGM

Join us pre-show drinks and a quick AGM from 7.00pm. We will kick off the movie double feature after that around 8.15pm.
Red Bull Storm Chase - A Force 10 Adventure displays all the incredible footage of the most extreme windsurfing action ever captured.
The SUP Movie - a documented progression that will change the sport forever, leading it in a direction of radical turns, giant aerials, and massive barrels.

Formula and Raceboard Windsurfing class combined with the “Kendall Cup” to make regatta a huge success.

The Formula and Raceboard Windsurfing class combined their Nationals with the “Kendall Cup” to create a strong field from around New Zealand in a two day regatta at Manly Sailing Club.

Manly Sailing Club’s wonderful facilities and setting, coupled with the enthusiasm of volunteers made for a great welcome on a perfect day for racing on
Saturday 28th and Sunday 29th March 2015.
A light northerly breeze of 7 to 12 knots along with “that” competitive nature enticed the 19 sailors to rig the big sails.

This is a WNZ sanctioned event governed by ISAF Windsurfing Competition Rules, the PWA 2006 rule book part 3 wave performance rules, the notice of race, these sailing instructions and the race committee.
