Canterbury Windsports news

Well, spring appears to have arrived early which is great. Hopefully that means the wind will arrive early too. We hope you got through the winter unscathed and looking forward to a new season. We should have the new events calendar out soon, so watch out for this, you will also be able to view it on our website as well.

Annual General Meeting

Our Annual General Meeting is being held in September and we need either a new treasurer or a new president as I have been full filling both roles last season, but cannot do justice to both, so I am standing down from both roles and standing for either the Treasurer or President, but not both. My preferred role would be Treasurer, so please stand up and be counted as we need you to guide our organisation with the help of your new committee. You will not be left to to preside alone.

CWA AGM 18 Sept 2013 7:30pm

Go on, share the love, get involved, bring a friend, and support the cause – your subs will be welcome too. Lindsay is standing down as President to focus on the Treasurers role, and there’s always room for fresh faces and new ideas. Mark your diary now and we’ll see you there, ready for a new season.

World Champion

Xanthe and Fenella Bowater, members of CWA, competed in the World Championships in Sopot, Poland on the Baltic sea recently.
They had a fantastic regatta where both of them are pleased with their results. Fenella finished 56th overall (19th in silver fleet) and Xanthe finished First woman and 6th overall (against the men)! Very excited to be bringing home some silverware!

See you on the water!
