2008 Olympic Regatta: Practice races ongoing

Now that Neil Pryde has issued the RS:X equipment to the participating national athletes, everyone is taking every opportunity to test their set-ups in daily unoffiicial practice races.

Olympic year always brings bold predictions of Kiwi medal success, but when it comes to forecasts in Beijing, boardsailor Tom Ashley has generally flown under the radar.

RS:X Olympic containers arrive at Qingdao Port.

Neil Pryde confirmed today the arrival of the container of rigs from Hong Kong and the refrigerated container of boards from Thailand at the Olympic Regatta host venue city of Qingdao.

Brand personnel will be on site in Qingdao tomorrow July 8th to meet the freight forwarder, check on the containers and ensure all preparations are in place at the event site. A generator will be used to continue to chill the container to 26-27 degrees Celsius until the boards are unpacked and stored in the ventilated and shaded storage area at the Olympic Yachting regatta venue.

Bic Techno 293 windsurfer chosen for 2010 Youth Olympic Games

The International Sailing Federation (ISAF) has announced the Bic Techno 293 windsurfer and the Byte CII dinghy have been chosen as equipment for the four sailing events at the 2010 Youth Olympic Games in Singapore.
The ISAF Executive Committee made the final decision on the equipment for the Youth Olympic Games events, based on the recommendation of the Youth Olympic Games Working Party. The qualification system for the sailing events at the Youth Olympic Games, featuring six continental qualifiers and one World Championship, has also been approved.
