YNZ News extracts - Ashley speaks to Laser sailors, Cozzolino takes Formula title

Yachting New Zealand’s Olympic Squad members Jo Aleh and Tom Ashley took time out from their busy schedules to give attendees of the New Zealand Laser Association’s Annual Laser Nationals Dinner an insight into their lives on the campaign trial to the 2008 Beijing Olympics.

Day 4 FW-2008 Australia. Moderating winds on the final race day. Cozzolino wins Lightweight division.

Conditions lightened today for the final day of racing at the 2008 Oceanic and Australian Formula Windsurfing Championships. New Zealand RS:X sailor Antonio Cozzolino (NZL-131, Starboard/NeilPryde) put in a strong performance considering he used a smaller sail than the rest of the fleet (9.5m RS:X sail) and managed to hold onto his 7th position overall and took out the Lightweight division.

Day 3 FW-2008 Australia. Allen continues to dominate, Vesterstrom fights back, Cozzolino (NZL131) maintains 7th position.

Suttons Beach continues to turn on the wind and perfect racing conditions for the competitor at the 2008 Formula Windsurfing Oceanic and Australian Championships. With 18-24 knots on the course throughout the day and the large swells and difficult shorebreak still present, the conditions pushed the racers to the limits.

FW-2008 Australia. Racing gets under way on day 2 after ballistic winds on day 1. Cozzolino is best kiwi in 7th

Antonio Cozzolino sailed consistently on day 2 (9,7,7,6) to hold 7th place. Other kiwis sit near the middle of the 29 strong fleet. http://www.fw-australia.com/2008/

2007 Formula Windsurfing European Championships Event Report - Ray Smith

The Formula Europeans took place in Santa Pola, Spain this year between the 24 and 29 April, 2006, and it was with great relief for Christina and I to finally have my equipment on board and be seated on the Emirates aircraft to fly, via Dubai to Nice, in France. From there, we planned to take a long road trip to the venue that is located on the coast of the Mediterranean and about 3hours driving time south of Valencia.
