The North Sails One Hour Classic

After a break of several years, the North Sails One Hour Classic was once again held in Auckland last Saturday 15 November. A moderately
promising forecast for WSW 10-20 knots was met with some scepticism upon arrival at Pt. Chev sailing club, however this did not quell the
enthusiasm of the nearly 30 keen sailors - many who had not raced before - who turned out ready to test their skills against the clock.

This weekend (15 November) will see a return to the sailing of the "North Sails One Hour Classic" in Auckland.

The Auckland Slalom Championships

The inaugural Auckland Slalom Championships were completed on the 1st and 2nd of November. After a delay caused by a lack of wind on Saturday,
the wind gods more than made up for it on Sunday by delivering solid north westerlies of between 20 and 40 knots. This made for ideal, if not somewhat difficult, slalom conditions.


This is it, only days to go... Weather patterns are starting to lookinteresting... bring it on!!!!!


Increasing enquiry and interest shown has prompted us to put together a race series. The aim is involvement and fun, while some participants will be serious competitors and using this for training, the majority are looking for social racing.

2003 Auckland Race Series - Round 1

The first round of the 2003 Auckland Race Series was held last Saturday 4th October. With a promising weather forecast for 20-25 knot South Westerly winds, Pt. Chev Sailing Club was chosen as the venue for the day. With a fantastic turnout of 25 people all keen on racing slalom, a figure 8 slalom course was set with an expectation of a steadily building breeze and a heap of racing.

Adecco Asian Windsurfing Tour

Next month the Adecco Asian Windsurfing Tour gets off to another howling start in the windy isles of Penghu, Taiwan. This is an invitation to all
windsurfers to come and join the biggest and best amateur windsurfing tour there is.
