Waterbourne - Waterbourne Ocean Clash for windsurfers, kiteboards and SUP

Waterbourne's new and exciting approach to the nationals is something you don't want to miss. Alongside the downwind slalom, Waterbourne will incorporate a long distance race (10km) around Matiu/Somes Island - Waterbourne Ocean Clash.

Kitesurfers and stand up paddleboarders (SUPs) will also be taking part in the overall race. SUPs will be released first and kitesurfers and windsurfers will be released together 30minutes later. Although there is a handicap for the overall Waterbourne Ocean Clash title, this handicap will not effect the result for the national title where competitors will get a placing in the overall race and in their specific division (windsurfer, kitesurfer etc).

Marahau Camp (Start of Abel Tasman)

Wed 17 Jan 2018 - Wed 24 Jan 2018
Marahau Outdoor Education Centre, Abel Tasman

Camp at Marahau either in the dorms or your own tents (to avoid snoring hassles !). Its an outdoor education centre right over the road from the beach….communal kitchen/lounge, toilet/shower block, fire pit, big field for camping.. usually around $12pp/night. Awesome location. A very nice mixed group of people, often quite a few kiters and windsurfers, but access to good terrain for SUP, kayak, hike, bike, tramp .. soo much so near.

Lake Ferry Social Weekend

Spring is here - hope you are enjoying some water time!
Reminder that this weekend is the Lake Ferry Social Weekend - details below. Looking forward to seeing a big group there :-)
Just remember Lake Ferry is impacted by the tide - make sure you are sailing on an incoming tide. Always sail with a mate - and if you have never sailed there before, make sure you chat with someone who has first.
