CWA Season Starter Social

Next Saturday 21st October we have the CWA Season Starter Social from 4pm at the CWA Shed at Scott Park.

We'll be putting on BBQ, snacks, and music, so please come along (BYO drinks) and have a fun afternoon. High tide is at 6.30pm so there should be heaps of water for all activists!

Great time to catch up with your 'Summer mates' find a new riding buddy, and pay your CWA membership for the season :)

The Ice breaker is this weekend.
It will be fairly causal, some racing for those who want it or just come down for a free sail and or a catch up. The forecast is looking good for Saturday see below.
Low tide will be around 12:20pm
Skippers meeting will be at 11:00am not 10:00am as previously advertised.
There will be a BBQ and a few refreshments late afternoon say around 4.30pm
Three Day Outlook
Developing early Saturday northeast 15 knots, rising late Saturday 25 knots with rough sea. Moderate southwest swell easing Sunday. Moderate northeast swell developing Sunday.

Windsurfing New Zealand is excited to announce the 2018 Slalom Nationals will be held in Eastbourne, Lower Hutt during @waterbourne event.
Dates for this event is 30 March - 1 April 2018.

TWC - Taranaki Wave Classic 2017

1983 was the year that the Taranaki Wave Classic was born, in it’s first guise as the Sirocco Expression Session. Biggie Smithers, along with his board brand Sirocco, ran the first wave sailing contest in Taranaki. It was designed to maximise time on the water for all competitors – this format proved an instant success with 60-70 sailors participating.

You may know my brother Luke, a young windsurfer of middling ability – any talent buried under a thick blanket of hangovers, laziness and a determination to hit the startline to the nearest minute rather than the nearest second. Anyway, yesterday he bought further shame upon our family when he revealed he didn’t vote.

Carbon Art Tauranga Harbour Jam

The annual Carbon Art Tauranga Harbour Jam is open to windsurfers of all abilities! If you can sail in a straight line then you are good to go!

We will have something for everyone throughout the weekend including some downwind slalom racing, a Matakana Blast or two, some fun team relays (random team selection chosen on the day), lots of spot prizes and more!

Spot prize categories (in case you want to train for it) include:
*Best dressed
*Biggest wipe-out
*Most styley gyber
*Dick of the Day or GC of the Day
