Here’s your chance to be involved in the future of water safety in New Zealand. Over two information-packed days, conference participants from across the sector will present and discuss a wealth of initiatives, concepts, research and programmes.

This is a don’t-miss event for anyone involved in water safety. The New Zealand Water Safety Conference will be held only every two years.

Water Safety New Zealand, in partnership with Maritime New Zealand, are pleased to announce the first keynote presenter - Professor Michael Tipton, Professor of Human and Applied Physiology at the University of Portsmouth. Professor Tipton has spent 17 years researching and advising in the areas of thermoregulation in hot and cold water and survival in the sea. His book, “Essentials of Sea Survival” was published in June 2002 and explored drowning, hypothermia and policy-related matters. Professor Tipton will present a keynote and break out session during conference.
