Yachting New Zealand is now calling for applications for the 2008 Prime Minister’s Athlete Scholarship Program. All carded sailors and 2007 PM Scholarship recipients are now invited to apply for PM Scholarships for 2008.

SPARC have recently reviewed the PMAS policy - the new policy guidelines are available on the SPARC Website. In order to be eligible applicants need to prove that they are capable of impacting SPARC's High Performance Mission, (More, New Zealanders winning on the world stage) Note: any athlete from any sport may be able to impact this mission. Carded athletes of supported sports (such as Yachting’s High Performance Academy & Olympic Squad) and athletes receiving PEG's are already recognized as being able to impact SPARC's HP Mission.

Application forms are available on the Yachting New Zealand Website (link below) and are to be submitted with a completed copy of the athletes 4 year plan, also provided on the YNZ website.

The application period closes at the end of business hours on Friday the 10th November 2007. Applications are to be mailed to Yachting New Zealand at the following address PO Box 91 209, AMSC, Auckland 1142.

Outsider Youth Girls Scholarship

Yachting New Zealand is now calling for applications for the Outsider Youth Girls Scholarship. This scholarship covers airfares for up to two youth aged sailors to Australia, for either Sydney International Regatta or Sail Melbourne. The program targets female sailors of single or double handed disciplines who are of a youth age. This year the successful applicant/s will travel with Emirates Air.

The application form can be downloaded from the Yachting New Zealand website through the link below and should be completed and returned to Yachting New Zealand before the close of business on the 2nd of November to be eligible. The successful applicant/s will be announced by the 9th of November 2007.
