AGM of Yachting New Zealand October 2003 H.Irvine to represent WNZ at the Council & AGM Meetings of Yachting New Zealand to be held in Christchurch on October 11 & 12 2003.

AGM of WNZ It was considered that with cheaper airfares that the Secretary / Treasurer should be present. However at the recommendation of the President & hopefully full Committee approval we will try for tele-conferencing or just a toll call. At $3.00 it must be cheaper than
flying.

Affiliation to the International Windsurfing Assoc

Concern was expressed by the committee of WNZ & John Wilkinson (MOA) at the cost of affiliation to the IWA which only benefited the windsurfers
sailing in IWA & ISAF contests. For WNZ this annual cost is $397.00 for three to four sailors to be eligible.

Agreed that Affiliation be continued at present level for both WNZ & MOA as that would be the best for sailors competing in IWA & ISAF contests & Mistral Imco sailors competing in their international events..

Agreed that IWA be approached to ask those sailors competing to pay an Overseas Competitor Fee to WNZ & MOA to help subsidise the cost.Amount of the fee to be decided at the AGM of WNZ in February 2004.IWA to be contacted re possibility of a combining fees with IMCO & MYOB

IWA to be asked to police entries more rigorously to make sure all sailors entering contests are members of MOA or WNZ & if implemented that the Overseas Competitor Fee is paid to WNZ or MOA.

Wind & Kite

Agreed that the Windsurf Events Calendar to be published in Wind & Kite Magazine, available to all & good publicity for Windsurfing.

General Business.

Auckland Race Series; Agreed that all who enter this series must be members of WNZ as at June 30 2003 & after November 30 2003 must be current
paid up members of WNZ for the year July 2003 to June 2004.

Suggestion that 2 VHF Radios & a mark be purchased, as an asset for WNZ, to be used to assist Windsurfing contests & coaching mostly Auckland. They would remain the property of WNZ, be stored in Auckland, be available for
hire, to approved Radio Operators, for all contests / coaching in Auckland & other sailing areas in New Zealand.A hire contract would have to be drawn up, a suitable deposit & hire charge decided upon & Insurance cover arranged.

Agreed that Jon Squires obtain prices for the 2 VHF Radios.

Meeting Closed at 7.40pm.

The above are the minutes as recorded but as there was not a quorum for this meeting, as required under the constitution, it could at best be called a discussion group. Apart from the Constitutional changes, for which proxy were carried ,no motions were put or carried or binding decisions made.
