Windsurfers - be proactive about water quality

Water quality at New Zealand beaches has surfaced again (pun intended) and there are some popular windsurfing location on the list of "high risk" beaches. My experience with local bodies is they tend to 'self interview' to set priorities at times, in the Hutt Valley there used to be unnotified sewerage discharges during high rain periods because someone decided no one in their right mind would be in the harbour so it didn't matter - they obviously weren't windsurfers! If your beaches are on this list then be proactive, let the council know it matters, find out the causes, ask what you can do to make something happen.
