Windsports Southern - AGM news and events - membership is ONLY $5!

Well we finally got the GM out of the way on Sunday. In the end it was a marvelous turnout. Thanks to those elected to the committee

Chairman- Carlos Legaz
Treasurer- Barry Keen
Secretary- Barnaby Arnott

Committee members: Murray Stewart, Mark Smith, Grant Stewart and Roy Johnston

No doubt the secretary will get the minutes out to everyone as soon as possible. A major change that may please most of you is that we have dropped membership fees to $5 per person. We hope by doing this we will encourage ALL OF YOU Open-mouth smile to sign up as members (maybe a few partners too as social members to help grow the numbers). Barry informs us that the membership forms are on the website ignore the old membership pricing.

SURF TO CITY- Sunday 12th Feb.
We are planning to have a kite/windsurf/buggy before the start of the race at Oreti Beach- this will be a fantastic opportunity to showcase the sport to well over 500 people. The road closure is from 8:45 am so I suggest we meet down there at 8:00 am, get the kites pumped up and wind permitting show-off to all the crowds. If the wind does not pitch, we can either all run in our wetsuits or have breakfast down there (I have a portable BBQ that does mean eggs and bacon). Please reply to this email if we can expect to see you on Sunday

PAINTBALL- date to be confirmed
We are planning to have a social paintball- would be a good way to meet everyone/catch up. If we are proactive, we could probably organise a game during the week- late evening to accomodate most. Please email to advise if you are interested as the more numbers I go to them with the better the deal.

We have started the planning stage of this exercise and are looking to form a small sub committee to organise the event. Riverton Coastguard have expressed interest so now its up to us!!!!! This has been over 5YEARS IN THE PLANNING!!! Time to get our A in to G. If you are interested please reply to this email as I am organising a get together to discuss finer details. It is envisaged that only 5 or 6 kiters will be able to do the crossing at this stage.
