Wellington - Take the plunge for charity this winter with the 2011 Polar Plunge.

A chilly dip in the Wellington Harbour is the best way to celebrate the cooler months. The forecast is for sunshine on Saturday but the event is on rain, hail or shine! Join the hundreds of others, dress up for the cause, and head down to the Petone Foreshore outside the Heretaunga Boat Club for the annual mid-winter swim.

Spread the word - the more people who take the plunge, the merrier!

Details as follows:

Date: Saturday 16 July 2011
Time: Registrations from 11am, judging at 11.45am, plunge at 12pm
Location: Thousand Hands Park (outside Heretaunga Boat Club), Petone Foreshore
Gold Coin donation entry, all proceeds to Wesleyhaven Village in Naenae

Online registrations are now open at www.huttcity.govt.nz/polarplunge

All registrations received by 5pm Wednesday 13 July go in a special prize draw to be drawn on the day.

There are prizes for best dressed team and individual, and there will be hot food and drinks available on the day for purchase with all proceeds going to charity.

We have a $500+ BBQ package from Mitre10 Mega to give away, along with a $250 voucher, and heaps of other smaller prizes, all of which will be given out on the day!

Thanks to our supporters Mitre10 Mega & Classic Hits.

Please feel free to contact me if you need any further information, and we look forward to seeing you there!
