Learn to windsurf in Wellington with RPNYC, Wild Winds and WWA

Royal Port Nicholson Yacht Club (RPNYC) Sailing Academy, Wild Winds and the WWA are combining forces to promote windsurfing in Wellington. They are offering windsurfing courses designed to take you from first principles and get you going out on the harbour in no time at all! Looks like a years free membership of WWA is included.

Lessons will run from Motukaraka Point (Pauatahanui Inlet) and have a go and open days will be here at Oriental Bay (Wellington City)

By having a lesson with one of their Windsurfing New Zealand qualified instructors and using the latest equipment they will have you up and windsurfing in the shortest time possible. The windsurf school is fully mobile which makes it possible to take you to the best location on the day. All windsurfing equipment including wetsuits, booties and buoyancy aids provided.

They are offering a Two Hour Windsurfing Taster Session (2 hours) and a more comprehensive Getting started with windsurfing (6 hours)

Two Hour Windsurfing Taster Session
Taste the windsurfing buzz! This session will give you a taste of what is involved in windsurfing so you can decide whether to commit to the introductory course. The taster session includes a go on the land based simulator to fast track your understanding of how windsurfing works. Then they will get you in the water and up and sailing.

Getting started with windsurfing
This course is a comprehensive introduction to windsurfing. Over 6 hours the course includes land based simulation with on the water sailing in a range of conditions, executing beginner and intermediate windsurfing transitions such as getting started from the beach, tacking, and getting back to shore.
