Well its time to put away the skis and snowboards and dust off all your summer wind toys. Some of us can report that the water is not that bad ! Quite a few sailors have been back out on the water already and some of the crazy kiters never stopped (see story later). We’re hoping for a windy season.

NEW COURSE! This is a new course covering coaching for introduction to short board skills, beach starts, harness, footstraps, waterstarts and gybes. The course which is based on the RYA Fast Forward key principles is a great update and progression course for existing instructors wanting to revalidate. If there are spare spaces we may take people who are not already basic instructors, this will improve your own skills as well as teaching you good progressions for developing windsurfers (though you will not receive official certification unless you’ve also done the basic instructors course).

Windsurfing and kiting social get-together. Repeat of last years great event. Simple across the lake and back race series for Windsurfers and Kiters. Think about this as an option for Xmas/New Year, there's always lots of windsurfers and kiters camping there. Very social.

If you have always wanted to know more about windsurfing but didn't know where to start.
Come down to our clubrooms at 2pm and check it out. All going well (weather permitting) we will have our learning gear out and will be showing people the very basics required to get into windsurfing.
Learn (on land) the basics of getting started.

Get the season started with an afternoons blasting at the Dunedin Windsurfing Associations Icebreaker event - take the opportunity to rejoin, meet up and get your gear tuned for the coming season. Event format will be Course Slalom if North easterly wind or Figure of 8 if Southwesterly. Skippers meeting at 12.00.
Doesn't matter what level your sailing is at, come along and have a go, or watch and meet the local sailors, catch up with the new seasons gear and more. Racing is the best way to improve your gybes (turns).
