Southern Lakes Wind Riders Club Xmas sail and social at Glenorchy on Saturday. Santa popped in for a visit. Unfortunately though.. Santa had some bad luck and popped his/her mast, resulting in a rather long wait followed by a rescue from the wonderful John at Kinloch Lodge... me thinks Santa owes John an extra big Xmas pressy. Santa rescue story and photos to follow!

The Windsurf South Island Cup Round 1 scheduled to run in Christchurch on Saturday and Sunday November 27 and 28 2010 has been deferred until an appropriate date after the Christmas holidays.

This is due to high tide at 9am Saturday and 10 am Sunday meaning the Estuary is not a viable venue as the water will be too low by the time and if the wind comes up, and I am told there may be little interest from local competitors if we shift to Lyttelton Harbour or Lake Ellesmere. Lyttelton is also difficult to set a course.

Don't forget the AGM Monday 22nd Nov 8pm Dux de Lux. This is not going to be a stuffy formal meeting, this is an invitation for you to come along, and tell us what exciting ventures you'd like to get up to this year and help us to make plans to make that come true. There'll also be cheap beer, free pizza and the new Fanatic "Addicted to Ride " DVD with pretty amazing action slots to watch before and after.

Hope to see you there or soon on the water and don't forget to sign up for this year... do it now so you can get your car sticker sorted All the best and for more info, Sue 027 640 8596.

The winds are stronger, the days are longer so its time to get that windsurfer thats been lurking in your garage out. Check everything is still working and safe, and get back onto the water.

Starting with the Taranaki Wavesailing Classic, one of New Zealands biggest and most social event on the windsurfing calendar, this week will feature a number of activities around the country to mark the start of the 'windsurfing season'.

Labour Weekend. 23-25th OCT. For those of you not doing Jazz and staying local, some of us will be down at the South Coast (contact Sue) and the other good option would be the Opening of Camping Season at Lake Aviemore.. get your tent site fixed for the season as its due to be good here with the La Nina pattern.
