CWA - the winter gloom is almost over ...

Spring is in the air and the CWA membership pack is in the post - sure signs that the Annual General Meeting is just around the corner: Wednesday September 1 from 7:30pm, at the Ferry Speights Ale House. On the agenda is the usual spring clean of the committee, and while many on the current committee will be standing again, here is the opportunity for you to put your name forward to the secretary and get involved.

The CWA committee is really just a bunch of individuals like you - not perfect, but with a passion to put something back into a sport they love. Recent achievements range from obtaining funding for learner windsurf gear and storage, to organising successful events and workshops, and maintaining access for members at The Estuary Windsurf Area and Naval Point in Lyttelton Harbour. The latter has required a consistent voice and good relations with local bodies. Does the CWA make a difference? Well yes, it does - plus there's more fun and safety in numbers. There are some exciting developments on the horizon - if you want to help shape them then there's no time like now.

There's also a draw for financial members to win a FREE CWA CAP or BEANIE, plus we have a limited run of CWA TEE SHIRTS at a SPECIAL AGM price of $25.

The CWA web presence has changed: the website has been simplified to deal with formal information such as EVENTS and online MEMBERSHIP subscription (if you've forgotten your username and/or password you can retrieve these by selecting the icons to the right of the login); while for those who like to SOCIALISE and share things online we've created a CWA Facebook page (there's also a link from

Wanakite Snowkite Freeride - Aug 28 to Sept 5 - see KITESPORTS New Zealand.

Check your CWA calendar, which should be on your fridge, and for updates.
