CWA News - November - December 2010

Clearwater @ Show Weekend, Lyttelton Harbour Ramp Access, CWA coming EVENTS ...

Clearwater @ Show Weekend:

Classic nor'west weather made for happy CWA campers at Lake Clearwater over Show Weekend. Friday and Saturday were calm & sunny in the morning, and windy and sunny in the afternoon. Sunday saw the nor'wester die away, only to be replaced by a cooler sou'west change. Three days of action in this fantastic mountain location took me five days back in the office to recover!

In the New Year:

17 - 24 Jan 2011: Bruce Spedding of Windsurf NZ has hired the Marahau Outdoor Ed Centre, at the entrance to Abel Tasman National Park, and invited CWA members to come stay. It sleeps ~60, and is a great place for learning, windsurfing & kiting and just about everything recreational. You can see more details and register your interest at http://marahau.winzurf.co.nz.

16 - 20 Feb 2011 Windsurf Slalom Nationals: Notice of Race and Entry form now available. See http://dwa.windsurfingnz.org/2010/11/04/new-zealand-slalom-nationals-for...

Finally, a word of caution about beach burglars: These lowlifes don't use a key, but smash and grab, as I found out at the Marine Parade/Bellamy St car park a couple of Sundays ago. Lessons learnt: park in high visibility busy areas, and ensure your gear is covered by insurance (i.e. specified in your contents policy if necessary).
