Well, spring appears to have arrived early which is great. Hopefully that means the wind will arrive early too. We hope you got through the winter unscathed and looking forward to a new season. We should have the new events calendar out soon, so watch out for this, you will also be able to view it on our website as well.

Annual General Meeting

03/09/2013

Our Annual General Meeting is being held in September and we need either a new treasurer or a new president as I have been full filling both roles last season, but cannot do justice to both, so I am standing down from both roles and standing for either the Treasurer or President, but not both. My preferred role would be Treasurer, so please stand up and be counted as we need you to guide our organisation with the help of your new committee.

Its that time of the year again when we ask you to pay your affiliation fee and start thinking about next season. This modest fee helps pay for the event insurance we offer clubs, our membership fees with ISAF, and the costs of advocacy and promotion of the sport.

WNZ INSTRUCTORS TWO DAY TRAINING COURSE

INTRODUCTION
This is an 18 hour course. This allows full content of course to be learned and practiced thoroughly before Instructors gain their qualification and teach 'real' students, and for the course timetable to be tailored to make the best of the weather and tide conditions.

CWA wants you to send in a submission regarding opposing, in particular, the pathway going through the centre of Scott park or around the edge of the estuary as their intention is to recommend this (by 17th April). http://www1.ccc.govt.nz/HaveYourSay/ConsultationView.aspx?ConsultId=903

Well the wind may not have blown much.. but that didn't stop the women who attended the annual womens camp at Clearwater, near Christchurch from having fun.

On Friday night a couple of the early arrivals ventured out on their long boards and had a relaxing unwind from the trip. Then on Saturday
we were met by a hot calm day... plenty of time for catch ups.

The annual Womens Windsports Weekend at Lake Clearwater is on 16-17 February, a wee bit earlier this year so hopefully it will be a bit warmer too. Please come along prepared to sail plus in the unlikely (!) event of no wind - bring bikes, SUPs, jokes, stories, food, booze etc.

There is nothing formal planned for the weekend except have loads of fun. If anyone is bringing newbies along don't forget the club has learner windsurf boards for use. Please let me know it these will be needed as we will need to arrange to transport them up to Clearwater.

The 2013 Canterbury Kiteboard Champs went off on 19-20 January at the Estuary. Saturday was hot and not nearly windy enough, but Sunday saw a classic sea breeze build through the day, producing powered riding to entertain the crowds. And the winners were: Women: Jo; Open: Jackson; Masters: anon; Legends: Cookie; Juniors: Anthony; Junior Juniors: Jay; Race: Tim. Thanks to Cookie who made it happen, and our sponsors.
