The committee met last night and noted there are a number of events coming up and that the combination on the CWA lock at Naval Point has changed – paid up members can find the new combination under the CWA website Members only menu.

22-23 November (this weekend!) – South Island Cup Round 1 at Naval Point, Lyttelton. Skippers meeting at 12 noon Saturday, and Sunday, which looks more promising. Round 2 is the following weekend in Dunedin.

29-30 November – The North Wave Classic at Waikuku. Kitesurf, windsurf, SUP – whatever takes your fancy.

21/10/2014

The CWA committee has met and continues to promote the interests of members through ongoing access to venues and events – watch this space.

Membership subscriptions for 2014-15 are now due, so please renew as soon as possible, ideally by credit card or internet banking from our website.

If you prefer cash then see Al at Groundswell 2/1030 Ferry Rd, or Tim at Kitesports, Shop 14, Brighton Mall – where you can also pick up the CWA Events calendar for 2014-15 .

November is shaping up to be a particularly busy month, with a few ideas still blowing in the wind :-)

Well there has been a lot of rain since the last newsletter and not a lot of sailing, so it is time to say goodbye to Summer and get through winter as soon as possible.

We will be holding our prizegiving at Naval Point Club on

28 June at 7:30 pm

We will also have something to eat as well, so we will have a small cover charge of $10 and if you feel like dressing up for mid winter, go for it!

Would you please return your trophies to Allan Taylor at Groundswell as soon as possible so we can hand them out again to the successful winners to be announced on the night.

Oliver Davey -
Ollie has spent all his summers on the water making use of the awesome conditions that you can get around New Zealand! In 2008 he started-up the Akaroa Sailing School to help others get into sailing and windsurfing and make it easy to experience the unique sailing conditions in Akaroa Harbour.

A windsurfing club is a great way to get into windsurfing. Your local windsurfing club will will introduce you into your local windsurfing community. A solo sport like windsurfing can make it hard to get advice on where to sail, what to buy and what to do. By joining a club you'll get all these things an so much more. BBQs, film evenings, instruction days, trips away, competitions, friends and sailing partners.
