Westpac Chopper Challenge completed

After a couple of months of indifferent weather and a couple of attempts coming up short I have finally managed to complete my 100km challenge! Feels good, and I recommend something similar to others as a way to raise funds for a charity. Look foward to me issuing some sort of challenge next year! (read on for details)

Wellington Harbour Blast cancelled

Again we have been left wanting for wind. The weather forecast for this weekend is not likely to produce enough wind for the Harbour Blast and the direction is also poor very for that side of the Harbour. This is the second time this season we have tried to run this event and this time we are cancelling till next season. We were just unlucky.

Thanks for all your support and hard work towards making this event happen! Hope you all have a good weekend in the sun, looks like it will continue into next week too!

The windsurfing component of this was postponed to April owing to the weather - so this is your chance to get on-board (pun intended)

The Wellington Ocean Water Sports Programme is holding an open day. All equipment and safety gear is provided and no experience is necessary. You only need to bring warm casual clothing that can get wet.

Learn to windsurf in Wellington with RPNYC, Wild Winds and WWA

Royal Port Nicholson Yacht Club (RPNYC) Sailing Academy, Wild Winds and the WWA are combining forces to promote windsurfing in Wellington. They are offering windsurfing courses designed to take you from first principles and get you going out on the harbour in no time at all! Looks like a years free membership of WWA is included.

Lessons will run from Motukaraka Point (Pauatahanui Inlet) and have a go and open days will be here at Oriental Bay (Wellington City)
