Two windsurfers and a kitesurfer have been reported missing and then accounted for as police and coastguard had a busy day searching for them on the waters around Wellington today. A kitesurfer turned up safe and well at about 8pm at his destination of Makara, 20km south of where witnesses reported losing sight of him. Earlier, a windsurfer was reported to have been pushed off his board further north, off Paraparaumu, about 6pm. He was picked up by the coastguard about 6.45pm but his board was still at sea. Another windsurfer was the subject of a search operation, also off the coast of Plimmerton, after he disappeared from view after falling off his board just after 3pm. more
