The winds are stronger, the days are longer so its time to get that windsurfer thats been lurking in your garage out. Check everything is still working and safe, and get back onto the water.

Starting with the Taranaki Wavesailing Classic, one of New Zealands biggest and most social event on the windsurfing calendar, this week will feature a number of activities around the country to mark the start of the 'windsurfing season'.

Windsurfing and kiting social get-together. Repeat of a great event. Simple across the lake and back race series for Windsurfers and Kiters. Think about this as an option for Xmas/New Year, there's always lots of windsurfers and kiters camping there. Very social.
Possibility of and Upwind/Downwind race as well on New Years eve.

Wellington - Take the plunge for charity this winter with the 2011 Polar Plunge.

A chilly dip in the Wellington Harbour is the best way to celebrate the cooler months. The forecast is for sunshine on Saturday but the event is on rain, hail or shine! Join the hundreds of others, dress up for the cause, and head down to the Petone Foreshore outside the Heretaunga Boat Club for the annual mid-winter swim.

Coming up is our 2011 Wairarapa weekend on 14th-15th May, so fingers crossed for some better weather. From mid-morning Saturday we'll be based at Lake Ferry - a great freeride, speed and freestyle spot, plus there are the numerous Cape Palliser breaks for wavesailing nearby too.

Bring your friends, kids and the rest of the family along, meet new (and old) members for freeride, free-style and free-bbq! The Inlet is pretty hard on the feet, so be sure you and your kids have footwear suitable for in the water.
We'll be arriving just after high tide, from around 10.00am so hope to see you there!
