New Zealand Windsurfing Slalom Nationals 2016

Thu 21 Jan 2016 - Sun 24 Jan 2016
Naval Point Club, Lyttleton, Christchurch

Windsurfers have achieved speeds approaching 100kph. Slalom is the fastest form of windsurfer racing, with groups of sailors competing on a downwind zig-zag course around a series of buoys and routinely reaching speeds in excess of 60 kph. Equipment is essentially unlimited, so sailors push the limits as hard as they dare. New Zealand has world ranking sailors in this discipline and some overseas competitors are also expected.

Windsurfing New Zealand AGM 2016

Fri 22 Jan 2016
Christchurch

Traditionally the Windsurfing NZ AGM is held during the Windsurfing Nationals (21-23 January), this year in Christchurch. The date and time are nominal as it has been found in previous years that the easiest way to run the AGM is to slot it in during event downtime - it is not practical to have it while racing is on, not popular or appropriate to halt racing for the meeting, and attendance is best if we schedule it while members are waiting for racing to start.
Minutes of the previous AGM, and agenda and any other material will be posted here soon, and notified on Facebook.

Annual General Meeting of Yachting New Zealand - Saturday 17th October 2015 in Auckland.

Windsurfing NZ is a member (Class Association) of Yachting NZ, and as such is entitled to attend and present at the AGM. Given the current state of play this relationship is of dubious value - it's currently sustained to maintain some form of channel to YNZ, and to support the Techno and RS:X Classes. If there are any issues you wish to raise with YNZ, or if anyone is interested and/or able to attend and represent Windsurfing NZ please contact me (Bruce Spedding).

The 61st Annual General Meeting of Yachting New Zealand is to be held at 10:30am on Saturday 17th October 2015 in Auckland.

Urgent input into IFCA AGM wanted, including possible representative and nomination.

Here is a reminder about the IFCA AGM to which we (WNZ) are entitled to send a representative to vote (Thursday 23rd July 2015 during the world championships on Sylt, Germany). membership of IFCA allows our members to compete in overseas events. We need to email the name of our representative by 22nd , to ifca@internationalwindsurfing.com
Three (3) of the outgoing committee will certainly be up for re—election (Bruno, Eric and Ruben) – but there is room for new blood on the committee if we wish to propose someone. Alternatively , they are happy to receive by email our comments on the Agenda. Agenda and last years AGM minutes are available for download (click through). If anyone reading this would be available to represent WNZ at the meeting, or is willing to stand please contact me (Bruce Spedding) urgently ...
