The WWA Freewave is firstly a wave event if the conditions allow followed by a freestyle comp if the waves aren't working on the day. We are also planning to run a beach start race before each Freewave event this year too. Hope you will come along and join in. The location, either Plimmerton, Lyall Bay or Evans Bay will be decided on the day and everyone notified on this webpage and also on deepfried.tv. The following Sunday, 29th Jan, will be a reserve day.

Life's a breeze - windsurf into summer

The winds are stronger, the days are longer so its time to get that windsurfer thats been lurking in your garage out. Check everything is still working and safe, and get back onto the water.

Starting with the Taranaki Wavesailing Classic, one of New Zealands biggest and most social event on the windsurfing calendar, this week will feature a number of activities around the country to mark the start of the 'windsurfing season'.

Weekend in the Wairarapa

Coming up is our 2011 Wairarapa weekend on 14th-15th May, so fingers crossed for some better weather. From mid-morning Saturday we'll be based at Lake Ferry - a great freeride, speed and freestyle spot, plus there are the numerous Cape Palliser breaks for wavesailing nearby too.

WWA Harbour Blast Sunday 17 April 2011 has been cancelled

The harbour blast is cancelled.It doesn't look like the wind is going to cooperate today. But a few of the guys are going to Eastbourne for a freesailing session at 1-2 o'clock in case the Southerly does arrive.

AND Distribution is coming to Wellington on the first weekend in March. We'll either have the Friday or Monday as an additional day depending on the forecast.
We'll bring the latest kit from Gaastra, Vandal and Tabou for demo including the full SUP range.

WWA Pauatahanui Fun Day - Sunday 5 December 10am

Join us at Pauatahanui Inlet on Sunday for the WWA fun day. Bring your friends, kids and the rest of the family along, meet new (and old) members for freeride, free-style and free-bbq! Directions to Motukaraka Point at Pauatahanui Inlet can be found on our local spots pages here (http://wwa.org.nz). Look for the WWA flag. Non-members and new members welcome! The Inlet is pretty hard on the feet, so be sure you and your kids have footwear suitable for in the water.
