Over the next couple of months we are asking for comments that will help us to develop a new management plan for Whitireia Park.
Located in the Porirua Basin, Whitireia Park is a prominent headland with amazing views for those who walk, bike, rock climb, play golf take a picnic, swim at the Park or even live nearby. It is similar to other regional parks in that it is much larger than city parks and offers adventure in an unmanicured environment. It's home to some unique plants and there are a number of restoration efforts underway. Not to mention, it has a long Maori history dating back to Kupe's canoe anchoring here and in more recent years home to Ngati Toa.
