Canterbury Windsports Assn. - Scott park Master plan - submissions close 22 November

Just a reminder, if you have not filed a submission, would you please take the time to do this in favour of the existing proposed plan. The Coastal Pathway group have forced a special meeting this Monday which I will be attending with Allan Taylor from Groundswell to defend our position to retain the existing proposed plan.

Our main focus is on four main points to reinforce our reason for proposing to run the pathway along the existing footpath area beside the road:-

CWA update (Discovery day 9 November cancelled)

21st birthday celebrations last Saturday
Thanks to all of those who took the time to turn up for our 21st birthday celebrations, we had a great time and good to see some faces from the past.

Discovery day 09 November cancelled
Due to circumstances, we are unable to hold the discovery day this weekend, but we will try and schedule another day over at Lyttelton before the season finishes

See you on the water, Lindsay, President, CWA

Clean Up - Christchurch Estuary - Scott Park

Sun 22 Sep 2013
ChCh : Scott Park

CWA are having our annual “clean up the World” day at the estuary this Sunday and would really appreciate just a couple of hours of your time to help us show the community and council we don’t just leave our wake behind at the estuary, we also help keep the estuary clean.

Meet us at windsurf park, midday on Sunday to help walk the edge of the estuary around to Scott park to clear the obvious obstacles that might trip us up during the season, like a tyre or two!

CWA AGM

Wed 18 Sep 2013
Speights Ale House, Christchurch

Our Annual General Meeting is being held in September and we need either a new treasurer or a new president as I have been full filling both roles last season, but cannot do justice to both, so I am standing down from both roles and standing for either the Treasurer or President, but not both. My preferred role would be Treasurer, so please stand up and be counted as we need you to guide our organisation with the help of your new committee.

Canterbury Windsports news

Well, spring appears to have arrived early which is great. Hopefully that means the wind will arrive early too. We hope you got through the winter unscathed and looking forward to a new season. We should have the new events calendar out soon, so watch out for this, you will also be able to view it on our website as well.

Windsurfing New Zealand Club News May 2013

Its that time of the year again when we ask you to pay your affiliation fee and start thinking about next season. This modest fee helps pay for the event insurance we offer clubs, our membership fees with ISAF, and the costs of advocacy and promotion of the sport.
