Canterbury Windsports Assn. - Scott park Master plan - submissions close 22 November

Just a reminder, if you have not filed a submission, would you please take the time to do this in favour of the existing proposed plan. The Coastal Pathway group have forced a special meeting this Monday which I will be attending with Allan Taylor from Groundswell to defend our position to retain the existing proposed plan.

Our main focus is on four main points to reinforce our reason for proposing to run the pathway along the existing footpath area beside the road:-

CWA update (Discovery day 9 November cancelled)

21st birthday celebrations last Saturday
Thanks to all of those who took the time to turn up for our 21st birthday celebrations, we had a great time and good to see some faces from the past.

Discovery day 09 November cancelled
Due to circumstances, we are unable to hold the discovery day this weekend, but we will try and schedule another day over at Lyttelton before the season finishes

See you on the water, Lindsay, President, CWA

Well there has been a lot of rain since the last newsletter and not a lot of sailing, so it is time to say goodbye to Summer and get through winter as soon as possible.

We will be holding our prizegiving at Naval Point Club on

28 June at 7:30 pm

We will also have something to eat as well, so we will have a small cover charge of $10 and if you feel like dressing up for mid winter, go for it!

Would you please return your trophies to Allan Taylor at Groundswell as soon as possible so we can hand them out again to the successful winners to be announced on the night.

Oliver Davey -
Ollie has spent all his summers on the water making use of the awesome conditions that you can get around New Zealand! In 2008 he started-up the Akaroa Sailing School to help others get into sailing and windsurfing and make it easy to experience the unique sailing conditions in Akaroa Harbour.

A windsurfing club is a great way to get into windsurfing. Your local windsurfing club will will introduce you into your local windsurfing community. A solo sport like windsurfing can make it hard to get advice on where to sail, what to buy and what to do. By joining a club you'll get all these things an so much more. BBQs, film evenings, instruction days, trips away, competitions, friends and sailing partners.
