Before Nevin Sayre was a five-time U.S. National Windsurfing Champion, he was a four time college sailing All-American. Sayre not only understands the competitive side of sailing, he understands that competition isn’t what sailing is all about. So it is no shock to him that the sport in the U.S. is struggling to turn youth sailors into life sailors, because the focus in most junior programs is to turn youth sailors into youth racers. Here he explains:
This LIVE Q&A Session is with Bas Edmonds (GBR) and this time we'll be making a deep dive into the Equipment Rules of Sailing as they apply to windsurfing. Bas is the RS:X Class Chief Measurer and ISAF Class Rules Sub-Committee member whose experience is driving RS:X class rules compliance
The second Reach 4 The Top: LIVE Q&A CALL is on. This LIVE Q&A Session is with Andrus Poksi [EST] and we'll be discussing the 'Essential Racing Rules'. Yes... the RRS as they apply to windsurfing.
Andrus is an ISAF International Judge and sits on the ISAF Windsurfing & Kiteboarding Committee. He is an ex - Formula racer so has a broad knowledge of all the different windsurf racing classes.
The RS:X Class is pleased to announce that it has joined the International Windsurfing Association. The RS:X Youth Championships [U19] at World and Continental level will now be held together with the Techno 293 Class Championships when ever possible.
