ADVENTURE ACTIVITIES REGULATIONS have been approved by cabinet

Cabinet has approved regulations to improve safety in the commercial adventure tourism and outdoor education industries, which will come into effect on 1 November 2011. The regulations sit under the Health and Safety in Employment Act 1992 requiring commercial adventure tourism and outdoor education operators in New Zealand who provide activities that are designed to deliberately expose participants to a managed risk of serious harm, to undergo a safety audit and be registered.

Recommendations for accommodation, hire and tuition

An intending visitor from overseas (female) is looking for accommodation and hire (message follows). If you have suggestions, commercial or otherwise please let me know (contact) . If I get enough information I'll compile it on to the site? Maybe we could set up a network of people willing to privately host visitors (by arrangement) and introduce them to an area, maybe lend or hire gear etc.?

Starting Thursday 14th Jan through til the end of March. Lessons and rentals available or if you have your own gear just turn up for a social sail and a chat to other sailors. Most weeks there’s a BBQ too, though not for the first one tomorrow. Its always weather dependent. So tell your friends and family about it… get them on the water too !

Flying Forwards

Big Manly Beach, Auckland

Flying Forwards is located at beautiful Big Manly Beach on the northern side of the Whangaparaoa Peninsula. This location was selected due to its safe environment in all weather conditions.

Paul Toghill is a Royal Yachting Association qualified instructor, powerboat driver, swimming teacher and is qualified in first aid.

He has spent five years teaching and managing watersports centres for families for an active holiday company with resorts in Turkey, Greece and Croatia.
