Weymouth - RS:X windsurfing medal races tonight

Tonight in Weymouth Jon-Paul Tobin and Natalia Konsinska will line up for the windsurfing Medal Races, while the 49er, Finn and Star fleets will be back out for more qualifying races. Medal races count double points and only involve the top 10 positions from the earlier rounds.
6th - Jon-Paul Tobin: RS:X Men (6, 6, 9, 16, 5, 11, 2, 4, 21, 1)
10th - Natalia Kosinska: RS:X Women (12, 10, 4, 7, 7, 11, 12, 14, 19, 8)

Weymouth day 6 - Both Kiwis qualify for medal race in RS:X windsurfing with mixed results.

It was a day of mixed fortunes for Jon-Paul Tobin who has affirmed his position in the Men’s RS:X Medal Race set to take place on Thursday in Weymouth, after another rest day. Opening the day with a 21st place Tobin bounced back to take a win in the final qualifying race of the series.
Natalia Kosinska has earned a place in the Women’s RS:X Medal Race, but only just, qualifying as the 10th placed sailor in the fleet of 28. To improve and achieve an 8th place finish is well within her reach given the narrow two point gap and this will ensure a hard fought battle in Thursday’s Medal Race between her, the Canadian and the Australian all close on points.

Day 5 at Weymouth - JP Tobin kicks in, Natalia holds top 10

Jon-Paul Tobin had his best day of the regatta yet, back on the water after a rest day to finish 2nd and 4th in the two races sailed. “Superb conditions for racing today,” he declared at the end of the day, pleased with how it went.
The good results provide him big gains in the overall standings climbing from 8th to 5th as the series moves into the business end. Points are tight around Tobin who has 43; Prezemyslaw Miarczynski of Poland is just in front with 40, while French sailor Julian Bontemps is two points behind on 45.
