Laurences live-in windsurfing clinic kicks off this weekend - there's still time!

I am very happy to have my windsurfing clinic kicking off this Friday at 10.30. Pete and I have a lot planned so it will be an action packed course with a lot of windsurf training and fun. The opening night there is a BBQ at the Pt Chevalier Yacht Club (where students will be sleeping) which all parents are welcome to come along to where JP Tobin will be talking and answering questions anyone has. The food I will be providing will be prepared by Ironique Cafe Mt Eden.

Laurence Carey - Day 1 IFCA youth worlds in Alicati Turkey, rough start to day gets better

Laurence was disqualified from the first heat of the first round as 8 out of 9 went over the start line early. Racing in heat 9 with 20 other contestants he placed 2nd! A good day of racing. Started off on 8.6 and ended up on 7.0 in the final. Wasn't exactly the start I was looking for with a disqualification however got to the final in the end.
Round 2 Laurence was 3rd in the semi and 4th in the final.
Heres a live stream for anyone wanting to watch tomorrow. http://www.hires.com.tr/

Windsurfer Laurence Carey reports on the Carbon Art Challenge – Maui Race Series, the IFCA 2013 Worlds in Turkey and his plans for the future.

Laurence Carey (NZL 252) brings us this report from the second event of the Maui Slalom Series, the Carbon Art Challenge.
Over the past three years I have been coming to Maui to compete in the ‘Maui Race Series’ so I can train and race against some of the best sailors in the world. The ‘Carbon Art Challenge’ (15th June) was a great event with over 30 sailors competing. The conditions were very challenging with breaking waves on the start line and gusts between 25-30knots in the afternoon.
