Marek Bosowski wins 2018 Baltic Kite Wave Jam
The kitesurfing event got underway in extreme ocean and weather conditions. Thirty-two competitors challenged 40 knots of wind and four-to-five meter waves.
The one-day event will not be forgotten, as riders launched their three, four, and five-meters kites into the air and battled the wind-affected sea. It looked like Armageddon.
Luderitz Speed Challenge returns with high hopes
The 2018 Luderitz Speed Challenge returns with high hopes and plenty of well-known faces. The event is running since 2007.
Bjorn Dunkerbeck, Steve Allen, Chris Bertish, Philippe Bru, Mark Grinnell, Farrel O'Shea, Twan Verseput and Alberto Possati (Windsurfing), as well as Sébastian Cattelan and Martin Carter (Kitesurfing), are some of the stars of this year's showdown.
Nuno "Stru" Figueiredo sets new Guinness world record for the largest kitesurfing wave
On November 8, 2017, the kitesurfer from Porto, in Portugal, launched his kite at Praia do Norte, in Nazaré, and sailed into one of the most dangerous beach breaks on the planet.
The wind was blowing from the north, and the waves were slightly facing south. After jumping off the crest of a couple of waves to get acquainted with the lineup, Figueiredo aimed for record wave.

Columbia Wind & Waves
RobertCross1 (off and on) posted a photo:
It was all about color and diagonal lines on this typically windy summer's day at the beach in my hometown of Hood River, Oregon. The Columbia River is a mile wide here, flowing through a gorge that is a mile deep. It flows through this gorge from east to west, directly against the prevailing winds, creating a wind-tunnel effect with frequent sustained winds of 40-60 mph, creating 8 to 12-foot swells on the water. As a result, Hood River is one of the world's premier destinations for windsurfing and kiteboarding.
